Improving our world (human well-being, global environmental health etc. ★) by building systems in key industries which simplify and deepen understanding, which learn through data, and which predict and act on our behalf.

I am most deeply interested in catalyzing radical shifts in mindfulness and self-knowledge (physiology, emotion, behavior etc) to capacitate elevated paradigms of human action and decision in the world. My contribution is building intelligence into apps, devices, and back-end systems for this and working with designers and engineers to see it implemented effectively.

Expertise in:

1) Machine learning and dynamical systems models which learn, adapt and predict. Deep knowledge of information theory, statistical modeling, probabilistic methods, sensor fusion etc.

2) Data science. Automating large scale analysis of temporal and spatial activity patterns. Time series analysis. Hypothesis testing. I love getting my hands dirty in model building, parameter exploration, visualization and interactivity.

3) Biosignals. Understanding both the physiology underlying them and the various intricacies of heart, brain, skin, muscle and motion signals.
